New Top Ten Scenes of the West Lake
In 1984, five units, Hangzhou Daily Office, Hangzhou Municipal Administration of Garden and Cultural Heritage, Gardens and Places of Interests (Now has been renamed as Scenic Spots) Magazine, ZJSTV, Hangzhou Municipal Tourist Corporation, united together to hold the selection activities for the new top ten scenes of the West Lake. There are over 100 thousand people from various parts of the country to participate in this activity and provide over 7400 scenic spots of the West Lake. At last, top ten scenes of the West Lake are chosen through public appraisal. Since September 1985, the Hangzhou Municipal Administration of Garden and Cultural Heritage successively has erected scene monuments or engraved the name of scene for the ten scenic spots.
